Getting started
What is Kinlets? An iPhone app for making small apps for your household, family or group: chores, carpools, swim lessons, a shared trip and more. You describe what you need, or start from a template.
Do I need an account? Not to look around: templates can be browsed without one. You sign in when you open, join or make an app, with Sign in with Apple or a 6-digit code sent to your email. There are no passwords.
How old do I need to be? 13 or older. Listed and public apps, and apps that let guests join, are for adults only.
Which iPhones? iPhone with iOS 17 or later. The app is in English.
Making and changing apps
How do I make an app? Tap Make (the + in the middle), pick what it is for, describe it in a sentence and tap Make it. Or open Templates and use one. The app is yours, and only you can see it until you invite someone.
How do I change it? Open the app, tap the menu (the three dots), Edit app, and say what to change. You see what changed before you publish. Every published change is a new version; Version history lets you go back.
The AI says I have used this month's allowance. You can still make and change apps with the simpler built-in maker and from templates. The allowance starts again next month.
I deleted an app by mistake. Deleted apps stay in Recently deleted for 30 days, with everything in them. Restore it from Your apps.
Sharing, joining and leaving
How do I invite someone? Open the app, tap the menu, Invite people. Send the link, show the QR code, or pick someone from your contacts (Kinlets does not read or upload your address book).
Who sees what I add? Every app says it before you join, and the access screen (menu, Who's in it) shows who is in an app. In private and listed apps the owner and members see what the app's design lets them see; in public apps what you add stays yours unless a section says it is shared.
How do I leave an app? Open it, tap the menu, Leave app.
Safety
How do I report something? In an app you joined: the menu, Report. Choose what is wrong and send it. The owner is not told who reported. You can also write to support@kinlets.app; anyone can, also without an account.
How do I block someone? In the app, open the menu, Who's in it (or Invite and access), tap the dots next to the person and choose Block. You will no longer see what they add, in that app or any other, and they are not told. Unblock the same way.
Copyright or private information: use Report with "Uses my work without permission" or "Shares private information about someone", or write to dsa@kinlets.app.
Something is urgent (a child at risk, a threat, intimate images shared without consent): use Report with "A child could be at risk" or the matching reason. These are looked at first, and the item is hidden at once.
Your data and your account
How do I get a copy of my data? Settings, Privacy and data, Download my data.
How do I delete my account? In the app: Settings, Privacy and data, Delete account. Apps you own are deleted (their members lose access), your memberships end, you are signed out everywhere and Sign in with Apple is disconnected. If you can no longer open the app, write to support@kinlets.app from the email address of your account and we delete it for you.
Can Kinlets use what I type to improve the app? Yes, unless you switch off Help improve Kinlets in Settings, Privacy and data. It never uses the records or photos in your apps, and nothing from people under 18.
Where is the privacy policy? At kinlets.app/privacy, and in the app under Settings, Help and legal.
Purchases
Kinlets is free. Credits, when they are offered in your country, are bought through Apple, so refunds of App Store purchases are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Credits never expire.
